We offer walk-in valuations between 10am – 5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you cannot attend either of those days, please contact us and we can schedule an appointment with a specialist valuer at a time and date to suit you.

Review

Our specialist team will review your items and respond with their valuation estimate. If your item is deemed a good match for our auction house, additional information including our selling fees will be included within the reply. Our team aim to respond to all enquiries within 14 working days, however, in busier periods, responses may take longer.

If you are happy with your valuation and would like to sell with us, you can schedule in a suitable date and time to drop your items with us at our showroom in Fulham. We have onsite parking and a team of porters that can assist you with unloading.

On delivery, you will have a little paperwork to complete which includes your contact details and payment information. Please ensure you bring along ID with you on the day.

Please be advised that we do not offer collection of items, however, we have a selection of carriers that we can recommend to you.

We have a simple and competitive commission structure which is set by the hammer price, which is as follows:

• up to £999.00 – 20% + VAT
• £1,000 – £4,999 – 10% +VAT
• £5,000 and over – 5% +VAT

Insurance for Lots are charged at 1.5% + VAT. This is automatically added into the consignment contract. If the vendor would like to provide their own insurance, evidence of the insurance certificate must be supplied at the point of consignment.

Beds and sofas are charged at a set rate of 30% + VAT

Live Hammer Auctions

We charge a flat rate of £20 + VAT per lot for our Live Hammer Auctions and £10 + VAT per lot for Carousel auctions. These fees include research, photography, administration and marketing of the item(s). This fee is only chargeable on sold items.

There are no minimum charges for lots consigned to us.

Please be advised that valuations and acceptance of items may change once inspected in person. Please include details of any imperfections or damages to your item when submitting your enquiry. We cannot accept items with significant damage or wear and tear.

Our standard policy is to reoffer unsold items into a further two auctions. Unless specified by the vendor, these items will be reoffered at our discretion into future sales at either a lower reserve or no reserve. For items that remain unsold, the vendor will be contacted and required to either collect their item(s) or we can arrange for them to be donated to one of our charity partners. There are no fees for unsold items.

If any Goods are withdrawn from the auction after being catalogued and/or marketed by us prior to the auction in any way, you will pay us a charge comprised of the sum of the Vendor’s commission, the buyer’s premium, the illustration cost, the loss and damage warranty and other expenses in relation to that Item. VAT will be levied upon all these charges at the prevailing rate. These charges will be calculated upon Lots Road’s published high estimate.

Lots Road Auctions is a busy auction house, and as such, any items that have not been collected within an agreed timeframe, may be subject to storage fees of £20 + VAT per lot, per day.

Please be advised that there are legal requirements and restrictions when selling particular items, these include the following:

• New hardwood furniture can only be accepted into auction with a valid certification complying with FSC (Forest Steward Council) or similar standard.
• Upholstered furnishings are required by law to have UK fire safety labels.
• Certain exemptions from the sale of Ivory – for full information please visit gov.uk

Vendors will receive a post-sale advice email following the end of the auction, which will include the details of the lots sold on the day. Payments are made to the vendors 18 working days after the auction.
