Lots Road Auctions - 40th Birthday

Since its establishment in 1979, Lots Road Auctions has become a Chelsea staple for all interior stylists and private collectors, offering an array of of contemporary, modern and antique furniture, works of art, decorative items and rugs.

This week colleagues, ex-colleagues, clients and friends came together to celebrate the 40th birthday of the auction house. That's 40 years of lively weekly auctions, and a turnover of many thousands of exciting items.

Surrounded by lots for the forthcoming auction, the party was underway in true Lots Road style, with crowds of people gathering on B&B Italia chairs and Aark sofas, resting glasses on a Maison Jansen low table.

The entertainment for the evening were young musicians from Chelsea Academy. The sound of pianos, guitars and violins accompanied the speech of Lots Road Auctions owner Roger Ross who encouraged guests to donate generously to the local school's music programme.

The words of one talented young singer, "I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty. You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty" seemed to perfectly capture the tone of the eclectic Lot's Road.

With the recent Fine Sale being the highest grossing sale yet, the future looks bright. Nick Carter, the general manager, assured as much in his impassioned speech, promising many more years are in store for the auction house.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate and made the evening such a night to remember.

A special thank you to all staff that were involved on the day, we couldn’t of done it without you!
