HOW TO SELL AT LOTS ROAD AUCTIONS

It could not be easier, you can either:
  • bring your items which will be valued to assess suitability for sale
  • bring clear photographs (incl. measurements)
  • email us with details, attaching jpegs or pdfs to valuations@lotsroad.com
For pictures and carpets it is advisable to bring the items in person.

N.B. acceptance of items for sale is dependent on inspection and value agreement. We have a minimum consignment of £500.

When leaving items with us you will need to provide -
  • your full name and address
  • contact numbers (including email address if available)
  • bank account details
    (payment is made by BACS transfer 11 days after the sale)
  • Also sign the Terms and Conditions (see below).

Once the items have been valued they can be delivered on Mon., Tue. & Wed. (am only). Recommended carriers can be found in Services.

Our valuers will advise you of an expected auction value and a suitable reserve.


CONDITIONS OF SALE FOR VENDORS

PRE-SALE ADVICE
A Pre-Sale Advice will be posted/emailed to you before the sale confirming date of sale, lot numbers, reserve, etc. Any lot not listed may be held for a future sale.

VAT
Value Added Tax is charged at the current rate and is payable on all commission and charges.

MINIMUM CONSIGNMENT
The minimum value consignment is £500. This is negotiable subject to the quality and suitability of the item/s.

COMMISSION/RESERVES
Basic commission is 15% of the hammer price.
25% commission will be charged on the following: -

Large or heavy items, i.e. wardrobes, beds, sofas, pianos, glass or marble top tables, large dining tables, marble fire surrounds, dining suites, sectional furniture, curtains, baths, snooker tables, multiple lots, i.e. dinner services.

Commission and Reserves should be agreed with the Valuer at the time of acceptance and may not be altered after a receipt has been issued.
There is a minimum commission charge of £30 per lot.


LOSS AND DAMAGE WARRANTY
Loss and Damage Warranty is charged at 1.5% of the hammer price of each lot sold (or the expected price for any unsold lots), with a minimum charge of £2 per lot.


WITHDRAWN LOTS
Charges are 20% of the (latest) expected price, a minimum charge of £100 per lot and 1.5% Loss and Damage Warranty + VAT, i.e. a £600 lot will be charged at £129 + VAT.


HARDWOOD FURNITURE
All NEW hardwood furniture, will not be accepted for auction, unless a valid certificate complying with FSC (Forest Steward Council) or similar standard is provided.


UNSOLD LOTS
These will normally be re-offered in the next sale, without reserve, unless:

a) they are removed by 1pm on Tuesday.
b) they are sold by private treaty (After Sale).
c) Vendors’ instructions are received to the contrary and arrangements made for the removal and/or storage of the lots.
d) most items valued under £125 and all "S code" lots (if unsold, to be donated to charity), will be given to a designated charity.
e) unless S code, the relevant Valuer must be contacted immediately (please see your Pre-Sale Advice).

UNSOLD CHARGES
For every unsold lot, a minimum charge of £20 each week will apply, together with 1.5% (minimum £2 per lot) Loss and Damage Warranty + VAT.


STORAGE CHARGES (NONE IF RE-OFFERED)

Storage will be charged at £20 per lot per day + VAT on uncollected lots, as from 1pm Tuesday. Sale proceeds may be withheld until Vendors have collected any lot not being re-offered. All unsold lots un-collected after 48 hours will be given to charity or re-offered without reserve.


PAYMENT TO VENDORS
Payment will be made by direct bank credit, eleven days after the sale providing:

a) we have your correct and current bank details
b) payment has been received from the buyer
c) the item is not subject to any dispute or third party claims

A Statement will be posted with the sale results and any relevant charges


RESULTS
They are published on our website from 7.30pm each Sunday or call us on 020 7376 6800. An email, post sale advice, will be sent on Sunday evening.

GENERAL
a) All images and other materials produced for the auction are the copyright of Lots Road Auctions for use at our discretion.
b) Notices to LRA should be in writing and addressed to the relevant department. Notices to LRA clients shall be posted/emailed to the details provided by the Vendor.
c) Should any provision of these Conditions be held unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

DATA PROTECTION
LRA will use information provided by its clients or obtained by LRA relating to its clients for the provision of auction related services, insurance, marketing and to manage and operate its business, or as required by law.

LRA may wish to record and review video images of you and or telephone conversations for security or legal reasons or as necessary to provide a higher quality of service.

Clients agree that we may use any sensitive information that they supply to us. Unless by law, LRA will not process sensitive personal data without express consent.


LAW AND JURISDICTION

Governing Law These Conditions of Business and all aspects of all matters, transactions or disputes to which they relate or apply shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law.

Jurisdiction For the benefit of LRA, all Vendors agree that the Courts of England are to have exclusive jurisdiction to settle all disputes arising in connection with all aspects of all matters or transactions to which these Conditions of Business relate or apply. All parties agree that LRA shall retain the right to bring proceedings in any court other than the Courts of England.

Service Proceedings All Vendors irrevocably consent to service of process or any other documents in connection with proceedings in any court by facsimile transmission, personal service, delivery by mail or in any other manner permitted by English law, the law of the place of service or the law of the jurisdiction where proceedings are instituted, at the last address of the seller known to LRA or any other usual address.


LOTS ROAD AUCTIONS reserve the right to refuse any goods if they are deemed unsuitable for sale. Any lots left for valuation, but not accepted, must be collected within 48 hours.
